About Andrew Boyton (MBACP, Dip)
I am a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) registered and qualified therapist with many years experience of working in private practice in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.
My Philosophy
I believe that given time, space, and support, people can make changes in their life and learn to take steps towards a positive future. The nature of the change desired and the history associated with the current state will determine whether the change is relatively rapid or painfully slow.
"Therapy as a investment in the future“ it enables people to have a better, richer and fuller life."
My Practise
My clients may be self referred, referred by GP's, other professional practitioners or previous clients of mine. Who ever you are and whatever your past, present or desired future I promise an individual approach for everyone with a quality of care that is professional, ethical and anti-discrimatory.
My clients are of differing nationalities, cultures, religions and sexual orientations.
My Experience
People come to me because they know that I care, that I am professional and effective. Clients report that during their time with me they; ''feel safe, are supported, encouraged, accepted and understood''. Clients often share their surprise that change is possible and that we focus so much on the future whilst considering the past, and that building a future can be 'fun' too.
It is common for clients to not know where to start in therapy, some started not knowing where they were or where they wanted to get to. I have helped many clients create changes for the better in their lives allowing them to move away from their limiting beliefs , their damaged past and their fear of future.

Reading Recommendations
If you would like to explore more about self-help and the process of counselling before contacting me, then two books I recommend are:
TA Today
This is a comprehensive introduction to Transactional Analysis. The book is well structured and is easily read, and covering the main areas of TA theory. A great feature of this book is the examples and exercises included.

Counselling for Toads
I love this book and many of my clients do too. This is an informative story about Toad on the road to recovery from 'depression'. Counselling for Toads provides an insight into the process counselling and psychotherapy, this book should be a companion to anyone that is having or thinking about counselling or psychotherapy.
